linia 2013-10-17 NOWY ZMIGROD

October 2013 marked another stage of the cleanup works carried out at the Jewish cemetery in Nowy Zmigrod by the Nowy Zmigrod Society in cooperation with the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland. The Society is carrying cleanup works on a regular basis since December 2008.

The Jewish cemetery in Nowy Zmigrod was established in the 18th century. There are about 500 matzevot preserved on its grounds, of them about 100 in good condition. The oldest matzeva dates back to 1742.
