On May 22, 2015, an unusual ceremony took place in Augustow. Matzevot, found in the town during renovation works, were ceremonially returned to the Jewish cemetery. Representative of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland took part in the ceremony, and later delivered a lecture on the history of the Jews of Augustow. The event was organized by the Town Office.
