On November 4, 2021, as part of the activities of the Coalition of Guardians of Jewish Cemeteries in Poland, an action was carried out to clean up the area of the Jewish cemetery in Ostrów Mazowiecka, at Wołodyjowskiego Street. Among its participants were students of the Complex of Schools No. 1 named after Captain Witold Pilecki, employees of the Pilecki Family House Museum together with the director Mr. Karol Madaj, and members of the Cultural Heritage Foundation, as well as employees of the Ostrów Mazowiecka City Hall, with the Mayor, Mr. Jerzy Bauer. The work consisted of collecting garbage and cutting out self-seeders. Part of the cemetery area was put in order. The measures taken, in an area of the cemetery of about 2.5 hectares, will be continued. The action was carried out thanks to a grant from the National Freedom Institute - Center for the Development of Civil Society. We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to participants and FODZ partners for their actions.
