linia 2024-09-30 Czyżew - a monument in the Jewish cemetery

On September 30, a memorial marker at the Jewish cemetery in Czyżew was unveiled. The cemetery was cleaned up. The project involved many individuals and organizations, including: Dr. Susan J. Littman and other descendants of Jews from Czyżew, Friends of Jewish Heritage in Poland, National Heritage Board, the Czyżew municipality, Culture Center, and high school students; Jewish Community of Warsaw, Rabbi Akiva Leiman and his students from Maryland. Rabbi Icchak Rapoport and the Czyżew parish-priest Krzysztof Karwowski prayed over the graves. After the ceremony, Dr. Susan J. Littman and Krzysztof Bielawski, our staff member, delivered lectures to the local high school students.
