On August 28, 2006, a group of young people from Israel visited the Jewish cemetery in Zambrow. The project was supported by the Foundation for the Preservation of the Jewish Heritage in Poland.
Young Israelis cut down the bushes, cleaned the fallen matzevot and wrote down the inscriptions. For the descendants of the Polish Jews such „discovering traces of the past” is an obligatory part of patriotic education.
The Zambrow Jewish cemetery is taken care of by the local authorities, and according to the Zambrow Developement Program this last trace of the town’s numerous diaspora will be restored.
