On 18 of September on the former Jewish cemetary in Chorzele a ceremony took place, during which Mr David Fiszerung unveiled a monument commemorating his family, murdered by the Nazis during the war. The promotion of his book, "The Book of Chorzel Jews" took place at the local culture centre.The town of Chorzele was home for many known and famous citizens of Israel: among others Amos Mal-Chaim - father of the vice-president of Jerusalem, Fischer Lachower, acclaimed Israel's best litterary critic, or Bronrad - former head of the Supreme Rabbi Court. Among the participants were Dawid Fiszerung, dr Zelman Drezner, the Mayor of Chorzele, and the head of the city council, many students and other guests, including the representant of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland. » back |
