2007-02-11 LUBLIN
On February 11, 2007, in the building of Yeshiva Chachmei Lublin in Lublin (lubelskie province) a ceremony of re-opening of a restored synagogue took place. We are happy to inform that the Foundation for the Preservation of the Jewish Heritage in Poland contributed to its equipment by donating a menorah. Re-opening of the Lublin synagogue was the first such ceremony in Poland since the post-war years. The ceremony, organized by the Union of the Jewish Communities in Poland, the Jewish Community in Warsaw and its Lublin branch, was attended by several representatives of the Jewish community from Poland and abroad. The Torah scroll was carried into the synagogue by Rabbi Michael Schudrich, the Chief Rabbi of Poland. » back See also galeries: YESHIVAS CHACHMEI LUBLIN |
