Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland has contributed to the publication of a book by Ita Heinze-Greenberg Erich Mendelssoh, which was published by the "Borussia" Association from Olsztyn.
Erich Mendelssohn, born in Olsztyn in 1887, was one of the greatest architects of the 20th century. He designed many outstanding buildings in Germany, Israel, the United Kingdom or the United States. In Olsztyn there is one of his earliest works: a pre-funeral house, erected at the Jewish cemetery (today: Zyndrama z Maszkowic St.).» back |
