A Committee for commemorating Jewish community of Strzelno (Kujawsko-Pomorskie district), recently established in the town, has been put under the auspices of the Foundation for Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland and the Union of Jewish Communities. The initiative is related to the celebrations of the Year of Abraham Michelson, American Nobel Prize winner in Physics in 1907 (and the first American to receive a Nobel Prize) who was born in Strzelno.
