linia 2008-05-08 TO BRING MEMORY BACK. WSCHOWA

We are most happy to inform you that the students of the S. Staszic School Complex No.1 in Wschowa (lubuskie province) removed an illegal playground and a football field from the grounds of the local Jewish cemetery. The students cleaned up the cemetery, demolished the goals and leveled off the artificial hills built on the cemetery by downhill biking fans.

Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland would like to express most sincere thanks to all involved teachers and students from the S. Staszic School Complex for their magnificent actions. We also would like to thank all the other schools participating in the "To Bring Memory Back" program. We invite everyone to visit the www.pamiec.fodz.pl website, containing detailed informations about the actions taken by 14 schools members of the program.
