Between August 1-16, 2008, a second edition of the 'Home Festival' - event dedicated to the multicultural heritage of the town - will take place in Tykocin (podlaskie province). The Festival is organized by the Pedziwiatr Cultural-Ecological Society.
One of the main attractions of the event will be the workshops that will take place in local synagogue, prepared by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland. The participants will meet a representative of the Polish Jewish society, who will familiarize them with the particular role and significance of the synagogue as a place of worship.
The meeting is being organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland in cooperation with the Pedziwiatr Society as one of the actions taken within the frames of the 'Research on the Attitude Towards Jews and Their Heritage. Cooperation with Local Partners in Selected 15 Towns. Education for Tolerance' program, supported by the Batory Foundation.
