On October 20, 2008 a meeting dedicated to the multicultural history of the town took place in the hall of the Public Library in Wasilkow. During the meeting two lectures were delivered; Ph.D. Artur Markowski of the Institute of History of the Warsaw University was talking about 'Nonexisting Society. Wasilkow Jews Since 18th Century Till 1942', and Tomasz Wisniewski described the 'Reconstruction of Atlantis. The Looks of the Small Town Jewish Cemeteries Until 1945'.
The event, organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland and the Town Office of Wasilkow, was realized within the frames of the 'Research on the Attitude Towards Jews and Their Heritage. Cooperation with Local Partners in Selected 15 Towns. Education for Tolerance' program, supported by the Batory Foundation.
