On August 27th, 2009 in Warsaw representatives of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland and of the Poland's Central Board of Prison Service met to discuss a project which aims to make Jewish cemeteries all over the country be cleaned up by prison inmates.
The inmates of prisons participating in the project will carry out cleanup works on Jewish cemeteries and build new fences. The Foundation will ensure that all the works are carried out in accordance with the Jewish religious law as well as organize workshops concerning Jewish
culture, anti-Semitism and xenophobia.
