Independence Day Celebration in Middle School No.1 in Piastow 2007-12-12
As part of the celebration of Polish Independence Day, our class -3c – prepared a school play, enthusiastically greeted by our colleagues and our teachers. The play was showing the long way to independence, which our ancestors had to follow since the partitions of Poland until June 1989. Monuments of heroes were unveiled along the way, among them were Polish soldiers fighting alongside Napoleonic Army, as well as those participating in 1830 and 1863 uprisings, Jozef Pilsudski and his Legionnaires, and those who did not make their way to the monuments yet; a united Polish society, thanks to which we live today in an independent country. more »

Jewish cemetery in Chelmza 2007-12-05
Jewish cemetery in Chelmza was established at the end of the 18th century. Buried here lay the Jewish inhabitants of the town. 30-40 years ago the remains of the cemetery were still visible, but due to the lack of interest from the part of the inhabitants, and from the town officials, the place was completely devastated. But even without a single trace of burials the cemetery grounds remain an important place for Christians and a sacred place for Jews; it deserves our respect. One of our most important goals is to place a memorial stone at the cemetery grounds; by this way we would like to commemorate the Jewish inhabitants of our town. more »
